No matter what website you are talking about on the internet, even if it is a big website that has hundreds of thousands or even millions of pages, the essence of a website is that it is just a bunch of files sitting on a computer. Just like a regular document such as a Microsoft Word file, even though this computer might be connected to the internet so that it can be accessed from other computers, it is still a collection of files stored on a hard drive.

When you learn about the history of the internet and the advent of the hyperlink many years ago, you find that the only way that it was possible for people to find these files that were stored across different computers was to link to them from another file or to type in the file name directly. While the internet of today has features such as language-based search engines that can help you find what you are looking for in a matter of seconds, that does not mean that you can discount the importance of building links to the individual files and links on your website.

In fact, link building is more important today than it was back when the internet first got started, since today the number and relevance of incoming links will help search engines determine what keywords your website should rank highly for, and how high up on the results your web page should be listed. Back when internet service providers would directly host other people's websites as part of their service package (and sometimes this was the only way to get your website on the internet), they would hardly offer any sort of online marketing or publicity that would allow that website to be found since internet marketing was a new industry.

Internet marketing and web design are not the same discipline, and you can have an excellent website that has zero visitors because the website itself is nothing more than a collection of files sitting on a computer hard drive somewhere. Other sites and web pages need to link to your website in order to make it findable and searchable, otherwise it might end up being invisible to a large portion of internet users. While it is important for you to submit your site to the search engines, you may not show up in the results for a particular keyword because the lack of incoming links also indicates a lack of authority.

Forum for completely Out of Character (OOC) discussion, based around whatever is happening In Character (IC). Discuss plans, storylines, and events; Recruit for your roleplaying game, or find a GM for your playergroup.
Well. The time schedule on a normal day. For the class with your gift, be it art, choir, martial arts, etc., you must go for at least two hours each day, separated or not. Otherwise, you have to see me.
5:00-9:00-Breakfast is served.
10:00- Start of classes.
Classes are each an hour long, except for the class with your gift. There is a large choice, and there aren't always very many students in each class. In the first week where school officially starts, everyone is supposed to report to the testing room, to take tests that will determine the classes they take. Students are allowed to take as many as they wish, up to a certain point.
You are required to, each year, take at least one class in the following areas: Mathematics, Science, Foreign Languages, English, History, and the classes with your gift. Then you can pick the rest. The way we're going to do this is have everyone pick the classes their character will have, and then I'll be able to fill in the rest by compiling classes to make it all neat.
11:00- Class 2
12:00-LUNCH BREAK
2:00- Class 3
3:00- Class 4
4:00-Class 5
Depending on the way classes work out, it is normal to have a class period where you don't have a class. Then, the period is like a free period. It is also normal, if you have a lot of supplementary classes, to operate on a switch schedule, where one day you have class A, and the second day, class B, and so on and so forth.
5:00-Class 6
6:00-Class 7
7:00-9:00-Supper, Dinner, whatever you'd like to call it, is served. The rest of the time is to be used as you wish.
11:00- On "school" nights, Light's Out.
On Saturdays, you have to go to the class of your gift between 2:00 and 4:00. Other than that, do whatever you want. Sundays and some holidays are also do whatever you want days.

Classes: There are placements for each one- Advanced, Basic, and Normal. However, it's all taught at once, but tested differently/ graded differently. This is the purpose of the tests.
Mathematics-
Trigonometry, Calculus, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry
Science-
Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Aviation and Space, Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology
English:
English I, English II, English III, English IV, Literature, Writing, Mythology
History:
Well, it's all foreign history, with emphasis on certain battles and wars.
But you can take courses in certain battles or time periods, if you want. Just ask the teacher.
Languages:
To be fair, everyone has to take a language they are unfamiliar with. Why? Because I SAID SO!!!
Supplementary Courses: Art, Choir, Instrument, Martial Arts, etc.

Police converge on Occupy site in Washington, DC

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Dozens of U.S. Park Police officers in riot gear and on horseback converged before dawn Saturday on one of the nation's last remaining Occupy sites.

Officers arrived and placed barricades around McPherson Square, a federal park near the White House where demonstrators have camped since October. They were not evicting the protesters.

Police said they're at the park to enforce a National Park Service ban on camping. They were removing wood, metal and other objects from beneath a big blue tarp draped around a statue in the center of the park.

After months of tolerating the protesters and protecting their right to sleep in the park, the National Park Service announced last week it would enforce a camping ban. It took effect Monday, although police did not take immediate steps to break up or otherwise disrupt the encampment.

The Washington demonstration is among the last remaining Occupy sites, enjoying special First Amendment protections by virtue of its location on park service property. The regulations permit protesters to remain onsite at all hours with tents, but bar them from camping or laying down bedding material.

Dozens have been camped since Oct. 1 in McPherson Square, just blocks from the White House. Similar to the New York protesters, who strategically occupied a park near Wall Street to highlight their campaign against economic inequalities, the District of Columbia group selected a space along Washington's K Street, home to some of the nation's most powerful lobbying firms. Another group of generally older, longtime protesters laid claim to nearby Freedom Plaza five days later for an anti-war rally, then turned their camp into a second Occupy location.

The relationship with police has been generally peaceful, though a daylong standoff in early December over a makeshift wooden building that protesters had erected in McPherson Square in advance of the winter resulted in more than 30 arrests. About five dozen protesters were later arrested during a mass demonstration that shut down K Street.

Democratic Mayor Vincent Gray, who forged his political identity as an advocate for the mentally disabled, initially appeared to support the protesters. But any enthusiasm by city officials waned amid reports of violent incidents and, more recently, a rat infestation that alarmed the health department.

The encampment caught the attention of Rep. Darrell Issa, a California Republican who chairs the congressional committee that oversees district affairs. Issa questioned whether the protesters were permitted to remain for political reasons, which park service officials denied. At a congressional subcommittee hearing last week, director Jonathan Jarvis said the park service would enforce the camping ban soon, but that officials would encourage protesters to sleep elsewhere rather than evict them en masse.

The park service contends protesters are allowed to maintain a 24-hour vigil in the park. Jarvis cited other examples of long-running vigils on park service property in the nation's capital, including a 1979 sit-in by farmers with tractors on the National Mall and an ongoing, 30-year vigil by one person against nuclear proliferation in Lafayette Square across from the White House.
