For over twenty years we have been perfecting the fine art of blending a 'conundrum' of varietals together, to create a remarkably complex, yet harmonious symphony of flavors that will complement an array of different cuisines. We source fruit from some of the most sought-after California winegrowing regions to ensure both quality and diversity: Napa, Monterey, Santa Barbara and Tulare counties. It would take all the fun out of it if we told you exactly what was in the blend, but there are definitely components used in Conundrum year-after-year that define our signature profile. Aside from a dash of creativity and a lot of dedication, we consistently include Chardonnay for its weight and complexity, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon for crisp acidity, Muscat Canelli for floral qualities and Viognier for unctuousness. Our winemaker Jon Bolta takes great care in keeping each parcel of fruit separate throughout the entire winemaking process - often multiple lots of each varietal - preserving the individual characteristics of each parcel. Some lots are aged in cool stainless steel tanks, to maintain fresh, crisp aromas and fruit flavors, and some in combination of seasoned and new French oak barrels for up to ten months. The end result is multi-layered, yet well-balanced wine, with subtlety and complexity. Tasting Notes: From the second you pour the first glass, you are invited in with intriguing aromas of green apple, tangerine and honeysuckle blossoms.
